Deepsound - Change The Room

Open up the windows.
This room needs air.
Throw out the things you haven't touched in a year.
That shirt in the back, still waiting for a life you don't live.
Three empty boxes, save for something.
Old keys, no idea what they open still.
You carry them. Some things take up space long after they're gone.
Open up the windows.
Let the whole damn wind come through.
Let it lift the dust.
Let it move what wouldn't move.
Pull back the curtains.
Let the daylight hit the room.
Let the old things find their way out.
Make some space for something
new.
Let it blow.
Let it through.
Yesterday's coffee, cold and black in the cup.
Don't pour more on top, empty it.
Flowers on the table, dry enough to break.
Shoes by the doorway from roads you don't take.
And that bottle
you've been saving for someday, open it.
Someday came. Clear the table.
Move the chairs. Let the room change.
Open up the windows.
Let the whole damn wind come through.
Let it lift the dust.
Let it move what wouldn't move.
Pull back the curtains.
Let the daylight hit the room.
Let the old things find their way out.
Make some space for something new.
Empty the cup.
The empty part is where the next thing goes.
